2. Presentation

TYXAL+ DME 90 is a passive infrared motion detector, designed to detect the infrared

radiation emitted by human bodies.

This motion detector aims to protect the outside of a building by detecting intrusions prior to

penetration into the premises.

As soon as a presence is detected, it raises the alarm.

TYXAL+ DME 90 has an automatic system to protect it against being opened or ripped from

its mount.

It is also equipped with anti-masking detection, to prevent attempts to mask the lens.

• Paired with a control unit:

- alarm signal.

- pre-alarm signal: as soon as a person enters the protected zone, a sound and visual

signal (outdoor siren) warns you of the imminent alarm.

Note

This product detects temperature differences between moving and background targets

within the detection zone.

If the target remains motionless, the motion detector cannot detect it. This may affect the

detector's maximum detection range.

For optimal operation, please comply with the following recommendations:

In the event of non-compliance, the product may present malfunctions or may not function

optimally.

Do not touch the lenses.

❶Unlatch the top cover.

❷Remove the top cover.

❸Remove the ﬁxing screws

Remove the sensor/electronic card assembly

screws and remove

the base from the rear

mount.

4. Mounting

using the ﬁxing screws provided,

then attach the base onto the rear

mount

5. Commissioning / Detection test

❶Plug the battery cable into the card

connector.

Set the (Tyxal+) alarm control panel to

‘pending pairing’, then press the pairing

button on the card. ❷Reposition the sensor/elec-

tronic card into the rear mount

and secure in place

Only the blue parts are actionable.

❸Close the product up again

automatically.

Let it run for 3 minutes.

Check where the detection zone is a,d

whether you are detected as desired.

❺ With each detection, the LED ashes for 5 seconds.

Test mode automatically stops after 3 minutes and the

system returns to "Normal" mode.

You have a choice of 5 lens masking kits (see

§ special detection zone). Reposition the lens in the top

cover

6. Detection zone seings

Principle:

The high beam always remains parallel to the ground.

The low beam can be adjusted as shown below.

The range is limited by the angle of the low beam as the high and low beams must be

intercepted simultaneously in order to activate the detector.

7. Detector range seings

To change these settings:

Change the detection range by sliding the lower infrared cell to the desired position.

If only the high beam is intercepted:

No detection

The high and low beams are intercepted:

If only the low beam is intercepted:

No detection

Principle: Because the protection zone can be disrupted by various elements (leaves,

reﬂective surface...), you have the ability to select its orientation.

To change the orientation and detection zones:

according to the shape of the

You can deﬁne a special detection zone for horizontal positions A or G.

Select the desired position (1,2,3,4 or 5).

The low beam can be adjusted to control the range, as per the table below.

9. Function seings

The sensitivity can be set to 3 different positions:

• L (low),

•M(medium),

•H(high),

The chosen position will depend on environmental

conditions.

Detection sensitivity settings

We recommend that you set the sensitivity level

to H (high):

• When the detection beams were tilted horizontally.

• When higher sensitivity is required towards the end

of the detection zone (12 m).

to L (low):

• When the device is installed in a mediocre location

(bad conditions).

• When there is a high risk of faulty detection.

Switches 1, 2 and 3 must remain in the

OFF position

Do not change this setting.

The masking of the lens is indicated by an

Auto-Protection fault.

The LED ﬂashes continuously, the battery is dead.

Before opening the unit, the alarm control unit must be in "Maintenance" mode (refer to

system installation guide).
