The FieldSmart SCD Panel mounts up to two
Clearview devices: the 12 port Clearview Cas-
sette or the two port, four port or six port Clear-
view xPAK in a single rack unit. The product is
available as either a 19” or 23” (482.60 mm or
584.20 mm) rack-mount unit. The FieldSmart
SCD 1RU is intelligently designed to provide
the user with superior ber access while using
craft-friendly radius protected ber management
for routing and deploying ber jumpers.
The Small Count Delivery Panel for a rack
provides a cost-effective way to deliver ber
management protection in interconnect or
cross-connect environments when landing a
small number of bers. It provides interconnect
or cross-connect connectivity for Clearview®
Blue Cassettes and xPAKs in a 1RU footprint.

Installing Clearview Blue Cassettes

The front of the empty FieldSmart SCD Panel is shown below.
Insert the Clearview Blue Cassette into the desired side of the panel.
Using a phillips screwdriver, secure the cassette into place by tightening the retaining screws on the mounting ears of
each side of the cassette
If installing Clearview Blue Cassettes into both sides of the panel, repeat the previous steps on the other side.

Installing Clearview xPAKs
In order to install LGX style Clearview xPAKs into the FieldSmart SCD Panel, the front end of the panel must rst be
congured to accept the xPAKs.
Install the outside LGX xPAK mounting bracket onto the front face of the panel as shown. Use a philips head screw-
driver to secure the bracket into place with two of the 6-32 x 1/4in panel assembly screws.

Install the middle LGX xPAK mounting bracket onto the front face of the panel as shown. Use a philips head screw-
driver to secure the bracket into place with three of the 6-32 x 1/4in panel assembly screws.
Slide the Clearview xPAK into place in the panel.

Utilize the push/pull plungers to secure the Clearview xPAK into the panel. Ensure the outer grommets of the push/pull
plungers are seated in the holes of the middle and outside LGX xPAK mounting brackets, and push the plunger in to
expand the grommet and lock the xPAK in place.
If you wish to install an xPAK into the other side of the panel, repeat the previous steps for the other side.

Panel Mounting
In order to mount the FieldSmart SCD Panel into a frame, you will rst need to install the panel mounting brackets with
radius ngers onto each side of the panel. Notice the 4 threaded holes along each side of the panel.
The panel mounting brackets can be installed so that when the panel is mounted, it is either ush, 1 inch recessed, or
3 inches recessed. This is achieved by simply shifting the mounting brackets forward.

Utilizing 4, 3 or 2 (depending upon mounting bracket position) of the 6-32 x 1/4in panel assembly screws per side,
secure the mounting brackets into place on both sides of the panel.
For 19 inch frames, the panel is now ready to install into the frame. However, if the panel is to be installed into a 23
inch frame, the extension brackets must rst be installed on both sides of the panel. Using two 12-24 x 3/8in panel
mounting screws per side, secure the extension brackets onto the mounting brackets as shown.
