Safety
• Theproduct must not be used by children under theage of
8years. Theproduct may be used by children aged 8 or over
under adult supervision. Theproduct may be used by persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
persons with alack of experience or knowledge which could
jeopardize their safety, provided they have been instructed in
thesafe operation of theproduct and understand thehazards
involved.
• Keep theproduct and its mains lead out of reach of children
under theage of 8.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
• If themains lead has been damaged it must be replaced by
aqualified electrician.
• Theproduct must never be used with atimer or other
equipment which turns it on automatically.
• Theproduct is intended for indoor useonly.
• Theproduct should be placed on afirm, level surface with
thehandle positioned in such away as to minimise therisk of
hot oil spills.
• Never immerse theproduct in water or other liquid.
• Theproduct is only intended for normal domestic use
as described in this instruction manual and in similar
environments such as canteens, offices, and hotels.

• Thehousing of theproduct can become very
hot duringuse.
• Never leave theproduct unattended duringuse.
• Never attempt to put out anoil fire withwater. Unplug themains
lead and smother thefire using afire blanket or wettowel.
• Ensure that theproduct is used with thecorrect voltage.
Referto therating plate on theproduct.
• Theproduct should only be connected to a220–240 V,
50/60Hz mains outlet protected by a30 mA (RCD).
• Always unplug theproduct from thewall outlet before
cleaning it or when it is not to be used for alongtime.
• Do not open thehousing. Certain unshielded components
inside thehousing carry dangerous voltages. Contact with
these components could result in electricshock.
• Never use theproduct if it is in any way damaged or not
working properly or if themains lead or plug is damaged.
Donot use theproduct if you have dropped it on thefloor or
into water or other liquid.
• Do not pull or carry theproduct by its mainslead. Donot use
thelead as ahandle and make sure that it is not crushed.
Donot pull thelead around sharp corners oredges.
• Theproduct becomes very hot duringuse. Becareful not to
touch any hot parts with your barehands. Nevertouch parts
of theproduct other than thehandle.
• Never use theproduct if your hands are moist orwet.
• Never use theproduct if it iswet.
• Make sure that theparts of theproduct are correctly
assembled and that theproduct is switched off before
connecting it to thepower supply.
• Make sure that themains lead does not come in contact with
hot surfaces such as cookerhobs.
• Never move theproduct while it contains hotoil.

Before initialuse
Wash thefrying basket and basin before using them for thefirsttime.
1. Take off thelid and remove thefrying basket from theoilbasin. Treatit withcare.
Donot subject it to knocks orblows.
2. Wash thebasket and oil basin in warm water and washing-up liquid.
3. Dry everything thoroughly.
Note: Neverplug thefryer in or switch it on without oil init. Makesure that thecontrol
panel is correctly fitted. Thereis asafety cut-off switch in thecontrol panel which must
be pressed in in order for theheating element to becomehot.
Assembly
1. Place theoil container (6) inside thehousing (8).
2. Slide thecontrol panel assembly
down into holder on thehousing.
4. Then pull thehandle backwards so
that it locks intoplace.
3. Attach thehandle onto thefrying
basket. Firsthook thehandleon.
Operating instructions
Warning: Hotoil and fat can cause serious burns, takecare. Always switch thefryer
off and unplug it afteruse.
1. Make sure that thetemperature control knob is in turned down tozero.
2. Remove thelid.
3. Fill theoil basin with appropriate oil, max 3 litres. Adjust thelevel according to what
you plan tofry.
4. Smear alittle oil onto theviewing window to prevent it from fogging up during frying.

5. Refit thelid.
6. Connect theplug to awall socket. Thered power indicator light should beon.
7. Turn thetemperature control knob to thedesired temperature. Thegreen indicator
light is lit during warm-up and turns off once theset temperature has been
reached. Ittakes about 15–20 minutes for theoil to reach operating temperature.
8. Remove thelid.
9. Lower thefrying basket containing dry food into theoilbasin.
10. Refit thelid.
11. Once thefood has been fried, turn thetemperature down to zero and unplug
thefryer.
12. Carefully remove thelid. Watchout for hot steam created during frying. Thereis
arisk of scalding.
13. Lift up thefrying basket by thehandle and hook it over theside of thehousing.
Let theoil drain into theoilbasin.
14. Do not move thefryer until theoil has cooled completely.
15. Change theoil after 8–10 uses or when necessary.
Fryingtips
• Start by frying at thelowest frying temperature.
• When you fry batches of similar food theoil may cool slightly. Between batches
you should wait 3–5 minutes until thefryer regains frying temperature. Thegreen
indicator light turns off once thefryer is ready touse.
• Food which has been precooked requires higher temperatures but ashorter frying
time compared to food that israw.
• Never fill thefrying basket to more than half-full.
• Never mix different types ofoils.
• Use vegetable, corn or olive oil for frying. Wedo not recommend using oil with
short shelf life such as sunfloweroil.

Care and maintenance
Thefrying basket and oil basin are dishwashersafe. Note: Neverimmerse thecontrol
panel, mains lead or plug in water or other liquids.
1. Unplug thefryer from thepower point and make sure that theoil has cooled
(1–2 hours after use) before cleaning thefryer.
2. Remove thebasket from theoilbasin.
3. Empty thefrying oil into anappropriate container.
4. Wash thelid in warm water and washing-up liquid.
5. Theexterior of thefryer can be cleaned using aslightly moistenedcloth.
Never use awashing-up brush or chemical cleaning agents.

reused but should probably be
changed after every 8–10 uses or

Troubleshootingguide
Problem Cause
Steam is escaping from

Thereset feature
If for some reason thefryer stops heating, thereason may be that thesafety cut-off
switch has tripped.
To reset theswitch:
1. Unplug themains lead from thewall socket.
2. Let fryer and theoil cooldown.
3. Lift up thecontrol panel and reset thesafety cut-off
switch by pressing it in using apointed object.
4. Refit theparts in thereverseorder.
