Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct and then keep it for
future reference. We accept no liability for any errors in thetext or images and reserve

Safety
The product is intended for indoor use only.
• Certain parts of theproduct become hot during use. Only touch
thehandle and thebuttons. Do not touch any other parts of
theproduct while it is in use.
• Never leave anempty pot on thehotplate.
• The product must only be used as described in this instruction
manual.
• Do not put theproduct in alocation where it could fall into water
or other liquid.
• Never immerse thecoffee maker in water and do not expose
it to knocks, impacts or high temperatures.
• Do not put themains lead where it can be crushed, damaged
by sharp edges or come into contact with hot surfaces, such
as hobs.
• Ensure that thecorrect voltage is used. Refer to therating
plate on theproduct.
• Never use theproduct if it or its mains lead or plug is damaged
or not functioning correctly.
• The product must only be repaired by aqualified service technician.
• Never try to open theproduct or to repair, dismantle or modify
it in any way.

• The product is designed for use in thehome or in similar
circumstances, such as:
- Staff canteens, offices or other staff rooms
- Holiday homes and cottages
- By guests in hotel rooms and other similar types of
accommodation.
• Keep children under supervision when theproduct is being used.
• This product can be used by children aged 8 and over if they have
been told how to use theproduct safely and understand therisks
involved. The product must not be cleaned or maintained by
children unless they are under adult supervision. Keep theproduct
and its mains lead out of reach of children under theage of 8.
• Always unplug theproduct from thewall socket before cleaning
it or when it will not be used for some time.
• The product can be used by people with any form of disability
or with alack of experience and knowledge which could put
their safety at risk, provided that they have been told how to
use theproduct safely and understand thepotential risks.
• Never let children play with theproduct.
• If the mains lead is damaged in any way it must be replaced
by a qualified electrician.
• Never place theproduct in acupboard.

Use
Before thefirst use
• Wash theglass pot and filter holder before using thecoffee maker for thefirst time.
• Then run themachine through two to three cycles with thewater reservoir filled up
to the10-cup mark and without coffee. You should also do this when thecoffee
maker has not been used for along time and after descaling it.
• The water level scale on thewater reservoir makes it easier for you to fill thereservoir
with thecorrect amount of water. Never exceed themaximum water level.
• If you intend to brew several pots of coffee, turn thecoffee maker off and let it rest
for about 5 minutes between each pot.
Warning: Hot steam will come out of thetop of thecoffee maker during thebrewing
process. Do not touch or lift thewater reservoir cover whilst brewing is in progress.
Let thecoffee maker cool before lifting thewater reservoir and filter cover.
Setting thetime
1. Plug themains lead into awall socket. The display lights up and shows “12:00”.
2. Press [HOUR] to set thehours.
3. Press [MIN] to set theminutes.
Manual brewing
1. Open thelid (7) and fill thewater reservoir (8) with therequired amount of water.
2. Put thepot (4) on thehotplate (1).
3. Insert apaper filter into thefilter holder (5) and add therequired amount of coffee.
One scoop per cup is usually recommended.
4. Plug thecoffee maker into awall socket and switch it on using theon/off switch (15).
• The product has adrip stop to prevent coffee from dripping onto thehotplate when
you are pouring coffee out of thepot.
• It is also fitted with asafety shut-off feature which switches it off automatically after
40 minutes.

Brewing using thetimer
1. Follow steps 1–3 above.
2. Press [PROG] and theLED indicator (10) will flash.
3. Set thetime that you want thecoffee maker to start making coffee using the [HOUR]
and [MIN] buttons.
4. Press [PROG] and theLED indicator (10) will stay lit constantly. The coffee maker
will start making coffee at theset time.
5. The LED indicator (16) stays lit constantly when themachine starts making coffee.
Information:
• To stop thetimer before theset time, press [PROG] once.
• To start thecoffee making process before theset time, press [ON/OFF].
• To set thetimer to thesame time as before, press [TIMER]. The last time you set
will be in thememory.
Cleaning and care
Cleaning
• Pull out theplug and let thecoffee maker cool down before cleaning it.
• Wipe theoutside of thecoffee maker with asoft damp cloth. Use only mild
cleaning agents. Never use solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• The pot and its lid are dishwasher safe.
Descaling
• Always descale thecoffee maker regularly to make sure that it is functioning
efficiently.
• If alarge amount of scale is allowed to build up, it will be very difficult to remove it,
even using adescaling agent. Scale can also cause leaks in thebrewing system.
We recommend that theappliance is descaled after every thirty to forty pots of
coffee. For descaling you can use amixture of white vinegar and water:
1. Mix 2−3 tablespoons of white vinegar (12%) with themaximum amount of cold
water thecoffee maker will hold.
2. Pour this solution into thereservoir. Insert afilter into thefilter holder without adding
any coffee.
3. Switch thecoffee maker on. Repeat if necessary.
4. Descale thecoffee maker in awell ventilated area and avoid breathing in
thefumes.
5. Run themachine through two to three cycles with around 10 cups of clean water,
but without coffee, before using it again.

Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that theproduct should not be disposed of with
general household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. To prevent
any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by incorrect waste
disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling so that thematerials
can be disposed of in aresponsible way. To recycle theproduct, take it
to your local recycling facility or contact theretailer. They will ensure that
theproduct is disposed of in away that does not harm theenvironment.
