We congratulate you for buying this CARSON Gyro System, which
is designed using state of the art technology.
According to our policy of steady development and improvement
of our products we reserve the right to make changes in specifica-
tions concerning equipment, materials and design of this product
at any time without notice.
Specifications or designs of the actual product may vary from
those shown in this manual or on the box.
The manual forms part of this product. Should you ignore the
operating and safety instructions, the warranty will be void. Keep
this guide for future reference.
Limited Warranty
This product is warranted by CARSON against manufacturing
defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for 24
months from the date of purchase from authorised franchisees
and dealers. In the event of a product defect during the warranty
period, return the product along with your receipt as proof of
purchase to any CARSON store. CARSON will, at its option, unless
otherwise provided by law:
(a) Correct the defect by repairing the product without charging
for parts and labour
(b) replace the product with one of the same or similar design; or
(c) refund the purchase price.

All replaced parts and products, and products on which a refund
is made, become the property of CARSON. New or reconditioned
parts and products may be used in the performance of warranty
services. Repaired or replaced parts and products are warranted
for the remainder of the original warranty period. You will be
charged for repair or replacement of the product made after the
expiration of the warranty period.
The Warranty does not cover:
• damage or failure caused by or attributable to acts of God,
abuse, accident, misuse, improper or abnormal usage, failure
to follow instructions, improper installation or maintenance,
alteration, lightning or other incidence of excess voltage or
current;
• damage caused by losing control of your car;
• any repairs other than those provided by a CARSON
Authorised Service Facility;
• consumables such as fuses or batteries;
• cosmetic damage;
• transportation, shipping or insurance costs; or
• costs of product removal, installation, set-up service
adjustment or reinstallation
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also
have other rights which may vary according to the country of
purchase.

1. Description CG-1
This gyro system is a compact stabilising system which detects
position changes thanks to a Piezo sensor. Via integrated
electronics a downstream servo is controlled in order to
counteract the position changes. Due to the compact
construction, this system is ideal for a small electric helicopter.
It can, however, also be used with small airplane models.
• The gyro can optionally be operated in the normal mode or in
the so-called heading lock mode.
• In the normal mode the downstream servo is only corrected as
long as the rotary movement of the model is identified by the
gyro.
• In the heaing lock mode the downstream servo is corrected
only as long as the original starting position (angular position)
of the gyro has been achieved again.
• The gyro effect can be set and can be adjusted either via the
sender or the built-in rotation controller.

2. Safety instructions
These safety instructions are not only for the protection of the
product but also for your own safety and that of other people. This
is why you should read this section very carefully before using the
product!
In the case of damages which are caused due to failure to observe
these operating instructions, the guarantee will expire. Liability for
any and all consequential damage is excluded!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal
injury caused by improper use or the failure to observe the safety
instructions! The warranty is voided in these cases.
Normal wear and tear and accident and crash damages are also
excluded from the guarantee and warranty.
The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product
is inadmissible because of safety and approval reasons (CE). In
this case the operating licence lapses, which can have particularly
serious repercussions in the event of a claim.
When handling batteries, speed controllers or electric motors with
propellers and rotor blades, please ensure that there are no body
parts or objects in the area of rotation or suction of the propeller
or rotor.
Never exceed the technical limits specified for the CG-1 gyro.
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of
children under 14 years of age!
The product must not get damp or wet.
Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become
dangerous playing material for children.

3. Before you start
• Install the gyro CG-1 in your model so that oscillation,
vibrations and agitation can be ruled out as best possible.
• Check the function safety of your model and of the remote
control system. Pay attention to visible damages such as
broken plug-in connections or damaged cables.
• Before each operation, control the settings of the trim slider
at the transmitter for different steering directions and, if
necessary, set them.
• Always switch the transmitter on first. Only then may the
receiver with connected gyro be launched. Otherwise there can
be unforeseeable reactions of the model or of the servo.
• Check the gyro CG-1 before every flight for correct function
and secure fit in the model. A loose and disconnected gyro
makes the model uncontrollable.
4. During or after operation
• Do not take any risks! Your own safety and that of your envi-
ronment is solely down to you being responsible when dealing
with the model.
• Improper operation can cause serious damage to people and
property! Therefore, during operation, ensure a sufficient safety
distance to persons, animals and objects.

• Always leave the remote control (transmitter) turned on, as
long as the model is in operation.
Always switch your model off first, before switching off the
remote control sender.
• In case of a fault or a malfunction, correct the fault first then
re-start the model.
• Do not expose your model, the gyro and the remote control to
direct sunlight or excessive heat for longer periods of time.

Attention important!
Do not launch your gyro, until you have read the following
sections in full and know what must be observed during
installation and operation. This is the only way to prevent
malfunctions or even damage.
The gyro is connected to the receiving output (1) for the tail servo.
The tail servo itself is connected to the gyro system (3) (picture
page 9).
This means that the gyro is switched between the receiver and
the tail servo.
In addition, the gyro is connected to another receiver output
”GAIN“ (2) via which the sensitivity regulation is later carried out.
6. Installation of the CG-1 Gyro system
When installing the gyro, ensure that you select a place of instal-
lation where the gyro is well protected from vibrations and heat
fluctuations (picture page 11).
In most of the cases the manufacturers of the respective model
set the exact place of installation for the gyro.
If this is not the case on your model, select a place of installation
which is close to the main rotor shaft (7).
The installation platform (8) where you fit the gyro must be in a 90
degrees angle toi the main rotor shaft.
Use the supplied, two-side adhesive foam pad (9) for fitting only.
The stabilisation axle (10) of the gyro runs in parallel to the main
rotor shaft.
