ASTM CATEGORY 0 - Children’s Bicycles
Designed for use on paved surfaces such as asphalt roads not used by motor vehicles and cycle paths, gravel-covered roads,
sand, or similar materials (e.g., forest roads, dirt roads) not used by motor vehicles. The wheels are constantly in contact with
the ground (without jumps, without pedalling on a single wheel, whether front or rear, and without braking that causes the rear
wheel to lift). In addition, bicycles in this category can only be used by children over the age of three and with a maximum
weight of 36 kg (80 lb).
CAUTION!
Parents/guardians are responsible for the proper functioning of the bicycle and its correct use.
ASTM CATEGORY 1 – Racing bicycles, triathlon and time trial bicycles, recreational bicycles, and city bikes, including e-Bike

the ground.

contact only due to terrain roughness for brief moments; jumps not exceeding 15 cm (6 inches) are allowed.
ASTMCATEGORY3– Mountain bikes for cross-country and cycle touring with suspension forks, including e-Bike Pedelec versions.
Designed to be used on surfaces like those in category 2, in addition to unpaved hiking trails with medium roughness and jumps

CAUTION!
With the use of rear stands, mudguards, racks, and bicycle trailers, the intended use of the model always moves to
category 2.
ASTM CATEGORY 5 – Mountain bikes for enduro, downhill, and freeride, including e-Bike Pedelec versions.
