Connection to the
Mains Supply
Check that the voltage marked on the product
corresponds with your supply voltage.
This product is fitted with a 13A plug complying
with BS1363. If this plug is unsuitable or needs to
be replaced, please note the following:
WARNING:
THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
Important: The wires in the mains lead are
coloured in accordance with the following code:
GREEN/YELLOW - EARTH
BLUE - NEUTRAL
BROWN - LIVE
This appliance is fitted with a plug which has a
13 amp fuse. Should the fuse fail, then it must
be replaced with an ASTA approved fuse
(conforming to BS1362) of the same rating. If
you need to replace the plug or if the plug is of
the incorrect type for your socket, remove it and
replace it with an appropriate type. Dispose of the
old plug safely.
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead
of this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as follows: The GREEN/YELLOW
wire is the EARTH and must be connected to
the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘E’ or
by the earth symbol or coloured GREEN or
GREEN/YELLOW.
The BLUE wire is the NEUTRAL and must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with

it incorporates a fuse, the value of which is
indicated either on the base of the plug or on the
fuse carrier. Should the fuse need replacing, you
must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to
BS1362) of the same rating.
If the fuse cover is lost, the plug must not be used
until a replacement is obtained from an electrical
supplier.
If you need to remove the plug, cut it from the

NOTE: Do not use metal utensils as
this may damage the nonstick coating
on the cooking plates.
4. Allow the doughnuts to cook for 3 to 4 ½
minutes, depending on the degree of browning
desired. When the green indicator light comes
back on, slowly lift up the lid to check the
progress of the doughnuts, lower the lid and
continue to cook if required.
5. Open the lid and remove the cooked
doughnuts carefully using a nylon spatula.
6. Close the lid and wait until the green indicator
light comes back on before making another
batch.
NOTE: Take care when using the
Doughnut Maker to avoid contact with
any escaping steam and hot surfaces. It
is normal for a large volume of steam to
escape out of the sides of the Doughnut
Maker during cooking. Contact with
steam can cause severe burns, so
exercise caution when opening and
closing the lid of the Doughnut Maker.
NOTE: The green indicator light will
cycle on and off throughout the cooking
process, indicating that the thermostat
is maintaining the correct temperature.
How to Use Your
Doughnut Maker
Before using the Doughnut Maker for the
first time, carefully unpack and remove all
the packaging material. Wipe the body of the
Doughnut Maker with a soft, damp cloth. Always
ensure that it is completely dry before using.
1. Close the lid of the Doughnut Maker, plug it
into a power outlet and switch it on. The red
“power-on” indicator light will illuminate. Allow
the Doughnut Maker to preheat for 10 minutes.
The green indicator light will illuminate when
the correct temperature has been reached,
and the Doughnut Maker is now ready for use.
Please note that the red “power on” indicator
light will remain on until the doughnut maker is
disconnected from the mains.
When using your Doughnut Maker for the first
time, a small amount of light smoke may be
emitted. This is due to the initial heating of the
elements and is normal.
2. Place a finger into the grip recess and pull
the locking catch towards you. Slowly lift up
the lid to prevent it springing back and spoon
the prepared Doughnut mixture evenly into
each Doughnut mould on the bottom plate. Be
careful not to use too much mixture as excess
mixture may overflow and spill out of the sides
of the Doughnut Maker during cooking.
3. You must be able to hear the locking catch
clip into place. The green indicator light will
go off after a short time and will then cycle on
and off throughout the cooking process. This
shows that the appliance is heating up and
maintaining the correct temperature. There
is no need to hold the lid during cooking, the
weight of the lid will automatically press on the
doughnuts.

Cleaning and Care
Note: Never immerse any part of the Doughnut
Maker in water, or any other liquid.
Before cleaning, always switch off at the power
outlet, unplug and allow the Doughnut Maker to
cool completely with the lid open.
Wipe over the exterior of the Doughnut Maker with
a soft damp sponge or cloth. Do not use abrasive
cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the cooking plates
and remove any crumbs. To remove any burnt on
mixture, place a warm, damp cloth over the stain
and allow to stand for 10 minutes, the mixture
should then wipe away easily. Alternatively, use
a plastic scraper to remove baked on food. Never
use a sharp metal object such as a knife, as this
will scratch the non-stick surface.
Tips For Success
• Allow the cooked doughnuts to cool by placing
them on a wire cake rack. Do not stack the
doughnuts on top of each other as this will
cause them to become soggy.
• Allow the doughnuts to cool completely before
icing/decorating.
• For best results, allow all ingredients to
reach room temperature before making the
doughnuts mixture.
• Your Doughnut Maker has a non-stick coating
on the cooking plates, so it is not necessary to
grease the plates before adding the mixture.
If desired, wipe the plates lightly with a thin
coating of oil or butter. This may result in a
slightly darker coloured doughnuts.
