Yetwith
Prost'sseven
wins
to
Lauda's
five,
Niki
Lauda
scored
halfa
point
more
andwon
thé
FI
WorldChampionship.There
was
tremendous
sympathy
for
Prost
but
even
though
Prost
was
thé
consistently
faster
driver,whenever somethingwentwrong
he
had
either
to
retire
or
expire
on
thé
track,whereas
Lauda
managed
to
score
points
by
drivingcarefully
and
tactically
even
in
races
where
he
wasnot
victorious.
