Where to position Primo CD VT
Primo CD VT is an equipment that can generate heat. For this reason it is recommendable to position it where there is a correct air
circulation. In particular it is better to guarantee enough space around and on the unit ( at least 5cm) and avoid places near heat
fonts (heaters or radiators, power amplifiers, TV sets).

Il Primo CD VT è un apparecchio che può generare calore. Per questo motivo è consigliabile posizionarlo laddove sia garantita una
corretta circolazione d’aria. In particolare, è opportuno garantire uno spazio sufficiente attorno e sopra l’apparecchio (almeno 5cm),
ed evitare posizioni vicino a fonti di calore (termosifoni o stufe, amplificatori di potenza, televisori).
Connection and Switching on of Primo CD VT
Before connecting Primo CD VT to the amplifier, verify that all equipments are disconnected to the power network.
First of all, connect the stereo output of Primo CD VT to the input of the integrated amplifier or pre-amplifier that you want to use.
Possibly use cables of the best quality, hat have gold plated connectors. In the end connect the plug of the power cord to the power
network in order to switch on the unit. When it is ON, the display will show a presentation message and after a few seconds the
words “HEATING TUBE” will start blinking. After the heating up of the vacuum tube, the information regarding the CD will appear, if
the CD is inside the machine or the word “NO DISC”. If this does not happen you should read the section dedicated to the resolution
of problems. It is recommendable to keep the unit in standby mode when it is not used for some time or to switch it off, disconnecting
the plug to the power network, when it is not used for long periods or during thunderstorms.
Collegamento e accensione del Primo CD VT
Prima di collegare il Primo CD VT all’amplificatore, verificare che tutti gli apparecchi siano scollegati dalla rete elettrica.
Per prima cosa, collegare l’uscita stereo del Primo CD VT all’ingresso dell’amplificatore integrato o preamplificatore che si desidera
utilizzare. Utilizzare possibilmente cavi della migliore qualità, terminati con connettori dorati.
Infine, collegare la spina del cavo di alimentazione ad una presa di rete per accendere l’apparecchio. Appena l’apparecchio si sarà
acceso il display presenterà un messaggio di presentazione e dopo qualche secondo inizierà a lampeggiare la scritta “HEATING
TUBE”. Dopo la fase di riscaldamento della valvola apparirà la schermata relativa alle informazioni del disco se esso è presente
all’interno dell’apparecchio o la dicitura “NO DISC”. Qualora ciò non dovesse accadere, consultare la sezione dedicata alla
risoluzione dei problemi. E’ consigliabile tenere l’apparecchio in stand by quando non lo si utilizza per brevi periodi di tempo e di
spegnerlo, scollegando la spina dalla presa di rete, quando non viene utilizzato per lunghi periodi di tempo e comunque in occasione
di temporali e tempeste elettriche.
Notes on the connection of Primo CD VT to the mains supply.
In order to guarantee the safety of the end user it and to maximise the sound performances, the Primo CD VT must connected to an
earthed electric plant. Thanks to this connection you generate a preferential route for distortions and dispersions. For this reason the
power cord has got an earthed plug unit. It is better not to interrupt this earth contact (for example with a 2 pole adaptor) unless it is
necessary to guarantee an immunity and eventual sound distortions and Primo CD VT must anyway be connected to an amplifier
that is connected to the earth. Audio Analogue declines any responsibility for eventual damages or malfunctioning due to an incorrect
connection of Primo CD VT to the power network.

Il Primo CD deve essere collegato alla terra dell’impianto elettrico per garantire la sicurezza dell’utilizzatore e per massimizzare le
prestazioni sonore. Attraverso il collegamento di terra si attua infatti un percorso preferenziale per i disturbi e le dispersioni. A tale
scopo, il cavo di alimentazione è dotato di spina con contatto di terra. E’ preferibile non interrompere il collegamento di terra (per
esempio con un adattatore a due poli) a meno che ciò non sia necessario per garantire l’immunità ad eventuali disturbi, e sempre
che il Primo CD VT sia collegato ad un amplificatore a sua volta collegato a terra. Audio Analogue declina ogni responsabilità per
eventuali danni o malfunzionamenti dovuti ad un incorretto collegamento del Primo CD VT alla presa di rete.
Correct phase of the feeding
Due to the asymmetric structure of power transformer coil, the phase in which Primo CD VT is related to the mains supply, is of
uttermost importance. Of the two positions in which the plug can be inserted in the socket only one will guarantee the best sound
performances. The difference between a correct and an incorrect plugging can be perceived on the basis of a general cleanliness of
the sound, dynamic and tridimensional. A very careful listening of the unit in the 2 possible configurations of the power network
connections is sufficient to decide which of the two is the correct one. For those who want an instrumental confirmation we suggest
to use a mains test screwdriver: the position of the plug in the socket that doesn’t switch on the led of the screwdriver when the latter
touches the chassis of the appliance, or that switches it on weakly, is normally the correct one. The test has to be done with the
appliance that is not connected to the other equipments.
In order to simplify the connection procedure, Audio Analogue has signed the plug of the cable of Primo CD in correspondence of the
pin that has to be connected in this phase. It is thus sufficient for the user to verify with the screwdriver which hole of the socket
connects the appliance in order for the signed pin to be inserted in the right hole.
