Damage to the device!
• The device must not be started:
- If cables or plugs are defective,
- If the device was dropped
- If the device shows obvious safety defects.
Clean the device and send it in for repair via the
distributor from whom you purchased the ATMOS A / C
161/261 Aspirator.
• The device must be checked at regular intervals for
function and safety-related defects, e.g. pins, secretion
canister, housing, etc.
• The ambient conditions speci¿ed in chapter 1.5 Transport
and storage must be observed.
• Only proper and undamaged plugs and extension cables
may be used. Avoid getting the plug and switch wet.
• Do not allow any liquid to get into the device. If liquids
have penetrated the device, it may not be operated again
until it has been checked by the customer service centre.
• The device must be placed on a stable, level surface.
There is a risk of the device tipping over if it is placed on
an uneven surface (e.g. mattress, cushion, upholstered
chair, etc.).
• Before connecting the device it needs to be checked
whether the requested mains voltage of the device
matches the mains voltage of the mains power supply.
• Before putting the device into operation, visually
check the device, secretion canister, power cable,
accessories, connection cables and hoses for signs of
damage. Damaged cables and hoses must be replaced
immediately. Check function of the device prior to use.
Risk of injury!
• Only persons instructed in medical use may apply the
ATMOS A / C 161 / 261 Aspirator to patients.
• The ATMOS A / C 161 / 261 Aspirator has been designed
for aspirating body uids, secretion and rinsing uids in
the medical sector. No suction of ammable, corrosive or
explosive uids/gases.
• Sterile packed parts may no longer be used if their
packing was damaged during transport or storage.
) Danger of infection for the patient!
• The unit may not be operated in the splash water area.
• The suction hose must never come into direct contact
with the application site. Always use a sterile suction
catheter or a medical accredited aspiration set.
• This suction unit may not be applied without a DDS
bacterial and viral ¿lter.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket in order to
disconnect the device from the mains.
Only then may the connecting cable be disconnected
from the device:
- before cleaning the unit
- before the canister is emptied
- before leaving the room.
Do not pull the plug out of the socket by the cable! Never
touch plug or cables with wet hands.
General safety instructions
• Prior to starting up the ATMOS A / C 161 / 261 Aspirator,
read these operating instructions carefully.
• ATMOS neither guarantees for fault-free operation nor for
personal injuries and damage to property if
- any non-original ATMOS accessories or spare parts
are used.
- the advice for use in these operating instructions is
not being observed,
- assembly, new settings, alterations, extensions
and repairs have been carried out by personnel not
authorised by ATMOS.
• Only transparent hoses must be used.
• The ATMOS A / C 161 / 261 Aspirator may be operated
only in rooms used for medical purposes, but not in
areas subject to explosion hazards and in oxygen rich
environments.
• The safety of the ATMOS A / C 161 / 261 Aspirator
complies with all the recognized rules of technology and
the guidelines of the Medical Devices Act.
• The electrical outlet is in fact carried out three-pole, but
the middle contact pin normally ground wire connection)
in the interior of the device is not connected.
• This product is not re-sterilisable. Repeated reuse of
components which are marked with a 2is forbidden.
In case of repeated reuse these components lose their
function and there is a high infection risk.
• There are no warranty claims whatsoever on defects
or malfunctions which arise from the use of third-party
accessories or consumables.
• In the case the pump is switched on, while a high vacuum
(> 40 %) is applied, the device switches o- automatically
(safe condition). Switch on is only possible after
ventilation of the vacuum.
