Quick Start Guide
Getting Cozmo ready to roll for the
rst time takes just 4 easy steps.
Let’s do this.
Everything you need is inside the box.
Well, everything but your mobile device* with the Cozmo app.
Because that would be weird, if your device was somehow in this
box. But you should go and grab it. You’ll need it every time you
play with Cozmo.

Cozmo’s at his best on clean, at surfaces. He also
likes to have space to move around. So if you keep
him towards the center of an open table, it’ll be a
lot easier to see each other face-to-face. Edges
are both exciting and scary for Cozmo, so the rst
time he operates, give him a little space and watch
him as he navigates.
Although if the room is dark, he may not see you
at all. (Hey, he’s a robot not an owl.) And just like you,
if blinded with direct sunlight he’ll be seeing spots.
That’s one reason why indoors is the ideal place
for Cozmo. Another reason is that there’s some
serious engineering going on inside that little guy,
and dirt and water don’t do him any favors.
1. Help Cozmo feel at home.
*Cozmo gets 1-2 hours of play time and charges
from empty to full in 10 minutes.
Make sure the charger is on the table and plugged in.
Place Cozmo on his charger. He feels most secure at
home before you start the app. And if you’re going
to take him elsewhere for extended play, remember
to bring the charger with you. We all need some-
where to recharge and refresh, and this is Cozmo’s
favorite place whenever he feels like he needs a
little me-time*.
2. Power up.
Do not use the Robot while charging(the Robot would not
cause any transmission during the charging mode).
Once you’ve got Cozmo set up in his charger,
go to your favorite app store (be it Apple, Google
Play, or Kindle) and type “Cozmo Robot” in the
search box. Then, download the Cozmo app
and follow the simple on-screen prompts. Your
compatible mobile device* with the app up and
running is all you need to keep Cozmo rolling.

3. Download the app.
That’s it. Cozmo is now ready to play.
Commence plans for world domination.
(And don’t forget to pack a lunch.)
4. Get rolling.
A few last words on keeping
Cozmo healthy and happy.
Cozmo’s got his own moves, and he likes to move in his own way. So try
not to push him, or force his lift. He might get a little fussy.
Cozmo’s an explorer, and his treads are what enable him to get around so
well. The cleaner you can keep them, the better his traction and mobility
will be. Not to mention his dance moves.
Here's a little exercise: Imagine a pool, a sink, a tub, a toilet bowl, a spilled
Slurpee. Now imagine them each in a red circle with a line through it.
Water + Cozmo = no bueno.
Finally, whenever you’re done playing with Cozmo, make sure he’s back
home on his charger. This is his happy place. In fact, if you ever run into
any issues with Cozmo, there’s a good chance a little quality charger time
will take care of everything.
