1. Place original developed radiographs and a sufcient number of duplicating lms
inside the Film Duplicator/Daylight Loader.
NOTE:
Some duplicate lms are individually wrapped and can be handled in room
light during this step. Some duplicating lms are not individually wrapped and
are m a common pouch.
2. Close view glass
3. Insert hands through cuffs and open Duplicator Door
SECTION 1: OPERATION
4. Separate Retainer Plate from Duplicator Door and lift the plate up to anchor it open.
This provides access to the Duplicating Grid

5. Remove the desired number of size 2 duplicating lms (up to a maximum of eight)
from their wrapping or from the packaging pouch and place each lm inside a
section of the grid with the lighter side of lm (emulsion) facing up.
NOTE:
The duplicating lm has a projecting pin dot on the emulsion side. Make sure
this projecting dot faces up.
6. On each duplicating lm place an original, size 0,1 or 2 radiograph. Orient the
original so that the concave side of the embossed dot aligns with and nests with
the pin dot projection of the duplicating lm.

8. After light source shuts off, open Duplicator Door and separate the Retainer Plate
from the Duplicating Grid.
9. Remove original lms from the Duplicating Grid and set aside within the Daylight
Loader.
10. Remove the duplicating lm from the Duplicating Grid and process through the Peri-
Pro in the usual manner.
7. Close Duplicator Door and push rmly with both hands to activate the light source.

SECTION 2: MAINTENANCE
Always unplug the Duplicator from the electrical outlet prior to performing any main-
tenance. It is recommended that you remove the cover from the Peri-Pro to facilitate
maintenance.
Bulb Replacement
1. Open Daylight Loader view glass.
2. Open Duplicator Door. This will expose the light source prism.
3. Remove the 2 Phillips head screws at the top of the prism adjacent to the rubber
bumpers.
4. Carefully remove prism. Some exing of the prism will be necessary, however, do not
bend excessively as this may cause breakage.
5. Unscrew burnt out bulbs and replace with part number I105AI, replacement bulbs.
6. Replace prism and secure with the 2 Phillips head screws removed in step 3.·
Duplicator Door Removal
1. Open Duplicator Door.
2. Apply gentle pressure at bottom of Duplicator Door towards the left until the left hinge
may be lifted away from its socket.
3. Push Duplicator Door toward the right after the left hinge is freed from its hinge socket
to remove the right hinge.
4. Lift Duplicator Door out of Film Duplicator/Daylight Loader Assembly.
Printed Circuit Board and Reector Assembly Replacement.
1. Remove Duplicator Door and remove prism as above. The PC Board and Reector
Assembly is now loose.
2. Carefully pull the PC Board and Reector Assembly towards the left while gently push-
ing on potentiometer dial on outside of unit. The Assembly may now be lifted.
3. Unscrew Phillips head screw on reector while holding nut that secures the ground
cable.
4. Unplug spade connectors from terminals and remove PC Board and Reector
Assembly.
5. Install new PC Board and Reector Assembly (PN92740) and

SECTION 3: TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem Possible Cause Corrective Measures
1. Blurred lm dupli-
cates on right side
or left side
1. Duplicating lms are not
making intimate contact
with original radiographs.
1. Make sure both latches
fully engage when clos-
ing duplicator door.
2. All lm dupli cates
blurred
2.a Duplicating lms are not
making intimate contact
with original radiographs.
2a. • Make sure latches fully
engage when closing
duplicator door
• Wait for light source to
shut-off prior to opening
duplicator door
2b. Emulsion of duplicat-
ing lms is placed face
down.
2b. Always place duplicating
lms so that the emulsion
{light side of lm) faces
upward.
3. Light lms. 3a. Exposure time set too
long.
3a Decrease exposure time
using adjustment screw
located at right rear of
Daylight Loader. (Rotate
screw counter-clockwise
to reduce exposure time).
3b Light fog 3b Use care not to expose
undeveloped duplicating
lms to room light
3c Original radiographs are
light.
3c Check technique factors
when x-ray exposure is
made.

4. All lms are dark 4a. Exposure time is not long
enough.
4a. Increase exposure time
using adjustment screw
located at right rear of
Daylight Loader.
(Turn screw clockwise to
increase exposure time.)
4b Original radiographs are
dark.
4b. Check technique factors
when x-ray exposure is
made.
4c Emulsion of duplicating lm
is placed face down.
4c Always place duplicating
lms so that the emulsion
(light side) of lm faces
upward.
5. Some dark lms,
others are okay.
5a. One or two bulbs burnt out. 5a. Replace bulb.
(See instructions page 5.)
5b Some of the original radio-
graphs are much darker
than others.
5b Check technique factors
when x-ray exposure is
made.
5c Emulsion of duplicating lm
is placed face down.
5c Always place duplicating
lms so that the emulsion
(light side) faces upward.
6. Black lms. 6a Duplicator not plugged into
wall outlet.
6a Plug Film Duplicator line
cord into 115V wall outlet.
6b Door not closed tightly. 6b Make sure door is closed
tight enough to engage
both latches and to acti-
vate light source
6c Bulbs burnt out. 6c Replace bulbs.

duplicating lm.
7a. Original radiographs not
placed correctly onto du-
plicating film.
7a. Use care when placing
original radiographs. Make
sure the duplicating lm and
radiograph are positioned
within a template grid.
7b Duplicator Door closed before
securing Retainer Plate.
7b Always close and lock
Retainer Plate before
closing Duplicator Door.
7c Retainer Plate closed too
quickly.
7c Close Retainer Plate slowly
so as not to scatter lms.
8. Completely
clear lms.
8a. Incorrect lm placement. 8a Place duplicating lm rst
and then place radiograph
onto duplicating lm.
8b Exposure time too long 8b Decrease exposure time
