CONNECTING GPS AND NEXTG
Connect the GSM antenna (long rectangular shaped antenna) to the “GSM” SMA connector.
The GSM antenna is non-directional, it can be located anywhere in the vehicle, but we
recommend a clear view of the horizon in at least one direction to guarantee a good signal,
and fixed internally to a glass panel to avoid sun damage to wiring. It should be mounted
vertically on glass, and at least 30cm away from any pillars, metal or other radio antenna.
Connect GPS antenna to the GPS connector which is ‘GPS’ labelled. The optimum location
for the GPS antenna is on the roof of the vehicle. The GPS antenna is directional, make sure
they are facing up and lying as flat as possible. The GPS Antenna should be located with a
clear view of the sky and the northern horizon.
Note: Do not shield or cover the GPS antenna with any objects containing metal.
The GPS and GSM connector are different. The GSM connector on
the logger is a RP Female SMA with a male internal connector.
Incorrect connection will result in damage to the antenna or logger.

WARNING: THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF GSM ANTENNA CONNECTORS ON THE 380I
LOGGERS!
THE 380i LOGGERS HAVE A FEMALE SMA CONNECTOR.
Important note: Plugging the reverse pin into a normal SMA female will damage both
connectors!
THE 380i-RP LOGGERS HAVE A REVERSE PIN FEMALE SMA CONNECTOR. (380i)
Note: The Agtrix sticker under the logger shows model 380i-RP, RP stands for reverse pin.

INSTALLING THE LOGGER
PHYSICAL LOCATION
The Logger Should be located in a secure position within the cabin, accessible for
replacement if required, and away from direct sources of heat, including sunlight, or
liquids. A rubber washers should be fitted between logger and vehicle to minimised vibration
transfer. Avoid mounting too close to other radio equipment, antennas and cables to avoid RF
interference.
The logger should be secured within the vehicle where it will
have minimal vibration to avoid contacts becoming
loose. Connecting cables may be positioned and secured to
avoid disengagement (consider use of cable ties for
example) Position the logger to avoid accidental damage by
equipment, tools and other implements.
Prior to fitting make a note of the unit’s serial number and ensure the label is easily
viewable within the vehicle cab for future commissioning and diagnostics.
Inspect for obvious signs of damage prior to fitting. Check integrity of all cables and
connectors.
