Many people know Skype as a brilliant way to make free calls
from one PC to another. Now you can make those same calls
as well as chat from your mobile. So you can call more than 170
million Skype users all over the world including other Skype
users on 3.
Making Skype-to-Skype calls is easy. Your phone has its own Skype dedi-
cated key.
Not only that but your mobile also comes with a 2 megapixel camera, MP3
player and a memory card with loads of storage space. You can access the
internet by pressing the Launcher or Planet 3.

First things first.
There are a few simple things to do before you can use your new mobile.
This section shows you how to install your USIM and battery and how to
charge it up.

General set up
This section shows you how you can adjust various settings to make your mobile perform exactly as you
like. It explains how to set the time and date, sounds and wallpapers, as well as showing the various ways
of entering text available.

Get set up
Power on
>Press and hold to switch on your phone.
Power off
>Press and hold to switch off the phone.
Set time and date
>Press from the Start Screen and select
Settings > Phone settings > Time and date.
>Enter the date and time.
>Select Save.
Set the wallpaper
>Press from the Start Screen and select
Settings > Phone settings > Display >
Main screen.
>Select Show Wallpaper > your preferred image > OK.
Set your ringtone
>Press (left) from the Start Screen and select
Normal or other profiles.
>Select Options > Edit > OK.
>Select Change > select your preferred tune from
Tracks > OK.
Voicemail and videomail
To set up voicemail and videomail:
>Set up voicemail: press and hold .
Follow the voice prompts to choose a PIN and record
your greeting.
>Set up videomail: press and hold for a video
call. Then follow the voice prompts to record your
video greeting.

Choose a text entry method
While writing a message, entering contact details etc, you will need to select an appropriate text entry method.
Text entry status icons
Abc T9 Predictive text mode, initial
ABC T9 Predictive text mode, caps lock
abc T9 Predictive text mode, lowercase
Abc Multipress text input mode, initial
ABC Multipress text input mode, caps lock
abc Multipress text input mode, lowercase
123 Numeric input mode
Changing input modes
The multitap, T9 and numeric input modes can be changed
by pressing within a text box.
>ABC Input: use the keypad to enter letters, numbers,
symbols, and other characters. Press the same key
repeatedly to cycle through available characters. If you
do not press a key for two seconds, the character in the
block cursor is accepted, and the cursor moves to the next
position.
>T9 Text Input: you press each key only once, even if the
character you want is not the first character on the key. It
tries to predict the word.
>123 Input: if you want to input a series of numbers, you
need to change to 123 mode or press and hold the
particular key for three secs.
>Symbol Input: for text message, select Options >
Insert other > Symbol. Select the corresponding
symbols on your keypad.
